I got bit... for real.

Alright, from day one that we brought T home our dogs have been GREAT with him. Sure, the little one (Hampton, our 5 lb. Yorkie/Maltese mix) gets a little jealous at times, but he's also such a good big brother. He lays by T's head, like he's protecting him or something. And Shelby (our 90 lb. black lab) has been great, too! She's getting old and really just lays around, but there have been nights she'd sleep in front of T's crib. And this was even before we brought him home... so she was sleeping in front of an empty crib. I was really worried about Hampton and thought he'd try and mark all over T's stuff and would get really jealous because up until T, Hampton was my baby. But he hasn't done that at all. Hampton has proved to be so great with him!
So this Saturday my mom, sister and I took the kids to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa and do some shopping. (I have pics I'll have to upload from that later).
With 3 adults and 3 small kids it is tough work to get any Christmas shopping done.
So I got home around 3pm and walked in the house to a pair of my half eaten panties that Shelby had apparently had for lunch.
She's a panty eater. Over the last 7 years she's probably eaten a total of 20 pairs of my panties. Lesbian.
I looked at Shelby, yelled at her and picked up the panties.
I rubbed her nose in them and told her NO and proceeded to spank her.
Now you can't hit her very hard cause she's fat and it really just hurts your hand.
So as I was bending down to spank her that bitch BIT ME! HARD! It hurt like hell! She showed her teeth to me and chomped down on my arm!!!
I was LIVID!!! I kicked her fat ass outside in the rain and didn't let her back inside all day.
Now I had on a sweater and she bit me on my upper right arm. I have a MASSIVE bruise on my arm and had I not had on said sweater, she would have definitely broken the skin!
Never in 7 years has that dog bit me or anyone else for that matter. I could NOT believe she did that! She is really my husband's dog and I've never been that fond of her, but now I just hate her.
She's fat and lays around all day shedding ALL OVER THE PLACE!
You should see the nasty ass hairballs I have to pull out of my vacuum cleaner when I vacuum once a week... you could literally make a coat out of it!

Now this concerns me on a number of levels.
What happens when my son is old enough to start teasing her and playing with her.. will she resort to biting him, too?
Right now she pays him no attention and he's not old enough to really be aware of her, but I know the time is coming when he just wants to play with her.
Maybe she's getting cranky in her old age.
I honestly wanted to just open the gate and let her out after she pulled that shit.
I will literally kill that dog if she ever bites my son.
I have not suggested giving her away because it is my husband's dog and she's been with him since she was a puppy and he LOVES that dog, but he is concerned too.
I know he'd choose his son over that dog in a heartbeat, and at the moment I don't feel like she's any kind of threat to T.
But I can guarantee if she pulls anything like that again, she's a goner.

This is right after she bit me:

And this is what it looks like today:

OH MY!!! I'd kick that dog to the curb. Our dogs are annoying as hell but they let Avery do anything to them and they just lay there. I wish one of my dogs would give us a real excuse to get rid of them because I so would. As you can tell, I'm so over dogs now!

And girl, you look AWESOME! Congrats on 20lbs lost! That is hard to do!

OUCH! Maybe she is starting to act out because of the change in the household. Fletcher has been SO FREAKIN BAD this last year and I really think it's because of Parker. He turned 3 in October and before Parker he never acted out.
He has been ripping planks off our fence and getting into the neighbors yard, scratching on their back door. One day we put him in the garage and he TORE UP the garage, ripping the siding off the doorway, I was sooo pissed. No matter what we do he has found a way to destruct everything, he even chewed a hole in the metal part of our fence, freak!!! Now he has figured out he can jump the fence and has been getting out, last week we think he got mased and that was a whole other issue. Ugh! We are seriously thinking of giving him away, he pisses me off daily! I have two kids, I don't need a 3rd!!!

You are right...you don't sugar coat anything and I love your honesty!

I have a dog who I love, her name is Shelby too! She is my baby...keep in mind my baby ways 60 pounds. Our case manager saw how much I loved my dog and asked me what I would do if our dog started getting aggressive towards us or the baby? I sighed and said I would get rid of my dog. It is a dog after all and my baby is a human being. I think you need to talk to your husband because she bit you hard! It wasn't like it was an accident, you pissed her off and she got you back (it is kinda funny when you think about it)! I'm sure Tucker will piss her off eventually!

I didn't always love dogs. I hated them until a year ago because my brother got bit when he was 3 by a dog. Stupid asshole took a good chunk of his arm (right where you got bit). She was an old bitch of a dog...my brother didn't even do anything to her. He was riding his bike and she ran over and knocked him down and bit him :)

Oh, my Shelby is a lesbian too!

Dog hair sucks ass!
