How I get it all in... (that's what she said)

I was sent an email a couple days ago that asked me how I possibly get everything I do done in a day.
The woman that wrote me the email (Hi Alice!) called me a "time management guru"!
HAH!
She obviously does NOT know me very well.

But I responded to her with one of my favorite quotes:

If something is important to you, you'll find a way,
If not, you'll find an excuse.

I love that quote. It is so true, isn't it.

With a full time job, 2 kids, a house to clean, bills to pay, a half marathon to train for, the 30 Day Shred to do, dinner to cook, laundry to do, playtime with kids, it's a miracle I get it all done in a day.

But I squeeze it in. that's what she said. Because it's IMPORTANT to me.

Example:

Yesterday the hubs had class after he got off work, so I was going to have to pick up both kids (kids are at separate childcare facilities currently).
I was wondering how the heck I was going to get my scheduled 4 mile run in, AND do the 30 Day Shred... with no help from the hubs on childcare.

SO, right after I got off work (4pm) I rushed home and put on my running gear and hit the pavement. (4:30pm)
Outside.
It was 68 degrees. I was NOT going to run inside with that beautiful weather.
So I got my 4 miles in, got back to the house and immediately, before even wiping the sweat off my brow, grabbed my keys and headed to go get the boys.
Pick up kids. (5:15pm)
Got back home. (5:30pm)
Big T wanted mac & cheese. (ps- this kid is OBSESSED with mac & cheese. he asks for it for EVERY meal)
MJ was content in his bouncy seat.
So I decided with Big T in his highchair eating mac & cheese, and MJ in his bouncy seat on the floor beside me, that I could squeeze in 25 minutes of The Shred.
I got through 20 minutes before all hell broke loose and MJ was screaming and Big T was getting on my ever loving nerves.
"Mommy! DOOOOWWWNNN! I want DOWWWWNNN!!!"

I tuned them out for 5 minutes and finished my workout.

So see, it can be done.
It is hard as balls, but it's possible.

When do you fit your workout in?

If you haven't entered the AbellaBlue giveaway yet, do it {HERE}.

Oh, and I got my half marathon race tee in yesterday:

disregard my sweatface & crazyeyes- I had just finished the Shred, which CLEARLY explains both.... especially if you know Jillian... that bitch will give ANYONE crazyeyes.

I hate running, but I LOVE that shirt. Maybe I would like running more if I had witty shirts to go along with it? and yes, Jillian induces crazy eyes on anyone! She's talented like that. I hate her. But she works!

It is pretty impressive that you got TWO workouts in before 6pm. And I love the text on that shirt!! Do you have a time goal for your marathon? :)

I have to workout in the morning before both kids are up. It's my ME time.
Even when I'm not doing Shred, I find myself repeating Jillian in my head. Really helps me to keep going.
Love the shirt!

She does give you crazy eyes. It's like she is in the room with you!! Love the shirt! -I do the Shred in the early morning before both boys are up, or after everyone goes to bed! I do 45 minutes on my elliptical, while my 15 month old naps, and my three year old will watch a movie!!

Love the shirt! I have to get my workout in before my son wakes up. I've been doing p90X and it's a great workout, but very time consuming. I wish I had a little more time in the evenings to do some extra cardio.

That shirt is too cute!!
Wholeheartedly agree with that quote, it's so true! With two kids and a full time job, it's so hard to fit it all in, BUT we do it because it's necessary. Because happiness within my own self is oh so important. You know that saying "If momma ain't happy, ain't no one happy", well the happiest version of myself is the FIT and FABULOUS version! And I know it's the same for you, you are doing so amazing!!

You're totally right - I make excuses all the time and mine aren't even good ones lol! You work out more than I do and I don't even have any kids :) You're awesome!

I love that Biggest Loser's (as much as I'm not loving this season) motto this year is "No Excuses!" I think we can all come up with excuses for anything we want to! Working out for me means that alarm goes off at 4:50. It sucks but juggling my house, husband, 2 kids, and 18 first graders requires me to do it at the crack of dawn or I will excuse the day away and never get it done!

Thanks for answering my plateau question, I felt so special! :)

All your talk about the 30-Day Shred has motivated me to do it too!

I start tonight, we shall see how I'm feeling tomorrow :)

Love the running shirt. Good for you getting it all in. When I was working out I was getting up at 4:30 so I could do a video before work and would still run after work. I can't wait to get back into running.

I totally copied your fat pics idea for a wordless Wed today. ;)

WOW! I think that's the 1st time I've heard that (or the 1st time it's clicked with me) but that's amazing advice, never thought about things that way.
You're amazing juggling everything from mommy & wife duties, we all envy you :)

I just recently found your blog and I love reading it. I just had a baby at the end of December and I'm currently training for a half marathon and doing the 30 day shred as well. I've been overweight for most of my life and getting pregnant didn't help much. I'm determined to lose the weight! And reading your blog helps me to see that it is possible with a whole lot of determination! :-) Love the shirt by the way!

So thanks to you, I invested in the 30 Day Shred video....and I hate you for it! :) Day one kicked my ass like a mother. Please tell me it gets easier! Love your blog, though! And thanks for my weekly giggles! My daughter will be 3 in April and I'd love to have a second! My hubby is doing the AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge and I am going to attempt to blog his journey!

I've been doing The Shred in the mornings before getting myself and the 2 kids ready.

It's your quote that's been helping motivate me -- I hear it in my head and say "are you going to get your butt moving or are you going to come up with an excuse?"

Thanks again for being an inspiration!
