I am NOT a professional, but I've been straightening/curling my hair with a flat iron for several years now, so I might as stinkin' well be! I've tried all different brands and the Hana Elite is my absolute favorite!
I am LOVING this product, y'all! It is a perfect size for curling AND straightening. I was a little nervous because it's tough to find a straightener that has rounded enough edges that are good for curling. The Chi, which I've owned in the past, does not have the rounded edges which made curling with it nearly impossible.
I love the ceramic plates and the multiple heat settings!
Here is a little video tutorial I did on how I curl my hair with the Hana Elite. Please excuse my smoker's voice, I am sick. But I wanted to show you how easy it is to get beautiful curls with this awesome product!
I really love this straightener and highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a new one! *cough* Christmas present *cough*
Head over to the Misikko website and check out their stuff!

Do you use any hairspray after or mouse before for hold?
Jennifer,
If your hair doesn't hold a curl well, a flat iron is a great way to do it (for some reason it tends to hold better). If you curl your hair the same day you wash it, use a light gel (I suggest Aveda's Confixor, medium hold, very runny, so it wont leave your hair crunchy and it smells fab).
Another great thing about curling your hair with a flat iron is that you can spray it with hair spray when you are done, run a brush through it, and reform the curls with your fingers for a natural look if they are too tight.
This doesn't work well with cheap flat irons or really wide flat irons.
I am an educator for Aveda so I always try to help!
This is not about the straightener! I'm taking a cue from Holly and I'm going to stalk comment you until we are BFF's! I mean I even showed The Husband a picture of you just last night b/c he agreed to let me get a boob job and I told him I wanted some like yours! Oh, and I promise...I'm not a crazy, weirdo, serial killer!
thanks for the tutorial~ I was wondering if your hair was super thick! I do my hair like this and it looks half as full as yours! I hope you are feeling better soon!
holy shiz balls $239?? It better be freaking amazing.
Ummm, how do you look so amazing while sick?!!
I have been looking for a new straightner and curling iron. How does this work as a straightner?
The Hana is soo on my list!! I have a Chi but it needs replaced the damn thing pulls my hair out now!
Learning to curl my hair with a flat iron was one of the top 5 life changing moments ever.
I cur my hair with a straightener almost every day. I love the curl it give and they stay so long! Like you, I also have THICK hair and it takes forever!!
I've used the Chi for years and am thinking of switching! Is the Hana Elite just as easy on your hair? I'm always so worried about burning the crap out of my hair. What price range is it?
Your so cute in real life, I love the accent. Sorry your sick. I sound like a creepo in this comment but I love it when people do videos so I can see if you actually sound like I imagine you do in my head. Get better!
Nice job on the hair tutorial! As a professional hairdresser & with thick hair myself I always get asked how to curl with a flat iron. You took the words right out if my mouth,(take small sections and go away from your face.) & I always say practice because it does take time to get the hang if it. I've never heard of the hana elite but I'm intrigued. Where did you get it, what's the price & does it come with a warranty? Keep it up! -April, from Il.
What flat iron brand did you previously use to curl your hair? This one is a bit pricey…
You mentioned in the video, you washed, blow dried, and straightened. Now you are using the straightener to curl. My question is what do you use for product in your hair that stops it from frying? Great tutorial by the way!!
