Food & Shoutouts

Number one thing I get asked about other than how I stay motivated (that's another post in itself)??
What I eat. 
And honestly, over the course of my weight loss it's changed drastically. I started out eating Smart Ones for every meal. I didn't know any better. I also only ate 1200 calories a day.
Again, NOT good. Did it work? Yes. But looking back it wasn't the healthiest way to go about it.
I am a big believer in calorie counting if you're trying to lose weight. Not only does it WORK, but it will put into perspective how much you are ACTUALLY eating. Because until you start writing things down, I promise, you have NO IDEA.

More recently I eat a lot cleaner than I did.
I go through stages when I'll eat really good, then I'll slack a little, etc. It's called a journey for a reason, you're not always going to be perfect. 
Since getting back into the 130's and having the 120's so close I can literally taste it, I've stepped up my game. 
The past couple days I've eaten really good, mostly clean foods, and I feel amazing.
Here are some of my recent eats:

grilled shrimp, veggies, white rice (I ate half the rice)
froyo date with Megan and Miss M (Big T and I shared)
 The top is Turkey Sour Cream Enchiladas for the boys and the bottom is Turkey Lettuce Wraps and veggies for me.
I do this alot, modify what I'm making for dinner so mine is a little cleaner and healthier. 
I used the same filling in the Lettuce Wraps (extra lean ground turkey and a little Rotel) as I did in the enchiladas, but just wrapped mine in lettuce instead.
So good!

SUSHI!!!
When eating sushi with friends, I like to order a few rolls and have a few pieces of each. That way you get to try a bunch of different things and not feel ridiculously full since you're sharing!

I had already re-started my weight loss journey, but reading about your constant motivation and dedication has really be inspiring to me. I'm really into clean eating. Even if I don't see weight loss right away, I feel better INSTANTLY.

What I miss about eating healthy is going out to eat, so I love to go out for sushi since it's so easy to make it healthy! I get the veggie rolls with brown rice instead of white! Delicious.

I eat a smart one everyday for lunch (I'm on WW) Do you suggest I find something else? I know they are bad, processed...but any tips on what I should change to?

Hey! Just wanted to share a little healthy eating tip (or two)... instead of rice, try making some cauliflower "rice" it tastes great and you're replacing an unhealthy grain with a veggie that's great for you! I do this ALL the time now and don't miss real rice at all (except when eating chinese food). You can also make cauliflower mashed "potatoes" and cauliflower pizza crust! Also, for about 6 months now I have been replacing all pasta/noodles with spaghetti squash - it's amazing! Just thought I'd share a few tips that have helped me live/eat cleaner and healthier.

Ahhh! I'm loving your blog!! My husband and I have began working out together, and reading your guilt blog, I couldn't agree more with what you wrote. I have gotten to the point I would rather be a better example for my children taking the time each day to work out and spending a little more time preparing healthy meals, over sitting on the couch watching Ellen eating my king size Hershey bar! lol We have been at this almost a month now, and amazed at the changes even so far!
