Pay it Forward - January; Drunk Driver

Since the Holiday Pay it Forward was so successful, I have decided to continue the giving movement and will be featuring a story every month and asking for your help.

This months story is very near and dear to my heart.
It is my hair stylist, Holly, that needs help.
She was hit by a drunk driver a few nights ago.
It totaled her car, and fractured her face in several places.
The police officer said that he'd never seen anyone survive an accident of that magnitude and that he was going to go out and buy a Nissan (the make of her car) the next day.
She is a single mother of 3 amazing boys, and now with her injury will not be able to work.
As you know, a hair stylist doesn't get paid unless they work.
She is scared about providing for her boys while she is out of work and recovering.
She has no health insurance (owns her own salon, yet still struggles to make ends meet) and will need surgery on her face.
This is a woman who I've shared with you all that is one of the most selfless people I know.
She is always giving to others when she herself is struggling.
She has had a very tough life. Her mother passed away a few years ago and her father has not fully recovered from losing the love of his life.
She is such a great mom and is always working so hard to give her boys a good life.
Every time I go see her she has a new story for me that just makes me that much more in awe of her. If anything can go wrong, it usually does. Yet, SOMEHOW, she is still always so positive about it.
She is really just a great woman and mother, and is in need of some help.
If you can or would like to help Holly and her boys out until she is able to get back on her feet, I know she would be forever grateful.
She didn't ask for this, and because of someone else's stupidity, is now the one suffering.
Holly and her boys are really in need of WalMart gift cards so she can buy groceries. Any monetary donations so she can pay rent, bills, etc.
Insurance will take care of her car, but it will be awhile before she sees anything for that.
Anything you can do will help.
If you can help out Holly, please email me at MLHolidayPayItForward@yahoo and I'll get you her address.
Thank you for Paying it Forward!

My cousin died after being hit by a drunk driver when we were both 21. The driver who hit him had already recieved 3 DUI's. I believe and pray daily for a more strict law on drinking and driving. My heart is breaking for this girl. I am emailing you now.....

Can I send you money via pay pal for her? Please email me if so, kfinck4@gmail.com. I will keep her in my prayers.

The person that hit her will have to pay (well, their insurance) In the meantime they will put a hold on medical bills related to the accident so that she will not have to pay them until she receives settlement. I am so sorry this happened to your friend! I will talk to my husband about helping.

That is awful. Sending prayers her way.

Just terrible and I will keep her in my prayers. Ditto what AWD said. My husband is an attorney who handles these types of cases. She or a close friend/family member should get in touch with a local attorney ASAP. She should be due a pretty large settlement (even if the drunk driver doesn't have good insurance, she can get a settlement from her own car insurance for uninsured/underinsured), but it can take years to actually get the money.

This is just awful!! Thoughts and prayers her and her family's way!! This is why I absolutely feel disgust toward my BIL who has had over 6 DUI and is 2 time felon... Drunk drivers are the worst!!

I am so sorry to read about this sad news. My kickball team lost two awesome teammates this past Christmas Eve because of a drunk driver. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

So sad that innocent people are affecting this tragic accident cause by drunk driving. Offender should be put to jail for his reckless driving. Authorities should keep an eye on this case so that Holly be given justice for what drunk driver he had done and cause a mess. Her children greatly affected on this incident.
