You asked a lot of questions I've already answered or done posts on, one of which was "What does your typical day look like?"
Since this is constantly changing, it's a little different than the last time I posted about it.
So I thought I'd run down
A typical day in the life of Mama Laughlin (as of late).
(this week)
4:30am- alarm goes off. I check emails while laying in bed (with only one eye open.. does anyone else do this??) and realize no one cares about me and my inbox is empty. womp womp. ;)
4:45am- "GET UP! MEGAN IS WAITING FOR YOU!" is the thought that goes through my head.
Get up and change into my workout gear, brush my teeth, and make my Spark. Shovel a banana or a ThinkThin bar in my pie hole while I'm walking out the door.
5:00am- meet Megan at the gym. 20-30 minutes cardio then weight lifting for 30-40 mins.
We do all different stuff. Today we ran 3 miles and then did legs. Yesterday we did spin for 20 minutes and then did arms for 40 minutes. We look for new moves all the time and try a bunch of different things.
6:00am- head back home to shower. (Hubs leaves shortly after for work)
6:15-7:15am- shower, wash and style this massive head of hair (that shit takes awhile), put on makeup, etc.
7:30am- Big T gets up and comes in my bathroom where I'm getting ready. Make him breakfast and turn on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for him while he eats and I finish getting dressed, etc.
7:45am- Go give MJ his sippy cup of milk. Let him wake up in his crib and play a bit while I get Big T dressed, then back to MJ and get him dressed, teeth brushed, blah blah.
8:00am- out the door headed to daycare to drop the boys off.
8:15am-8:45am- drive to work. Jam out with my clam out. Seriously. I don't do talk radio in the mornings, I NEED my music. UP LOUD.
8:45am-9:00am- get to work, get water, stuff ready for the day, etc.
9:00am-12:00pm- work.
12:00pm-1:00pm- lunch with either coworkers or at my desk. Make a salad (usually), sandwich, or grab something quick (Chipotle).
1:00pm-4:00pm- work.
4:00pm-4:30pm- drive home.
4:40pm- pick up kids. Yesterday I got in a run after work. (2 workouts in one day! holla!)
5:00pm-6:30pm- cook dinner, eat dinner, pick up the house, hang out/play with the boys.
If I didn't go to the gym in the morning, then I'm at the gym at this time and The Hubs picks up the boys.
6:30pm-7:00pm- give MJ a bath. Bring iPad in the bathroom and multitask answering emails while playing with MJ.
7:00pm-7:30pm- play with MJ. Snuggle.
7:30pm- give MJ a sippy cup of milk and put him to bed. He sleeps 12 hours. My kids have slept through the night since they were 6 and 8 weeks old. One word- BABYWISE! Google it.
7:30pm-8:30pm- get stuff ready for the next day, play with Big T, maybe watch a show... if by "watch" I mean, have it on in the background while doing a million other things.
8:30pm-9:00pm- The Hubs gives Big T a shower and gets him ready for bed. I've been SOOO tired this week from getting up early so I'm usually laying on the couch or in bed.
9:30pm- I'm asleep. Don't text me. ;)
There you have it.
I have always said I'm NOT a morning person and morning workouts were NOT my thing.
That said, I have actually LIKED getting up at 4:30am this week and getting my workout done early.
I don't like the actual waking up part, but I feel great afterwards and it's a great feeling to know I've already gotten in my workout for the day.
I may actually start making this a habit. ;)
And we were just informed this morning that our gym is starting a 5:30am spin class in March! HELL YES!!! Pretty stoked about that!
Honestly, knowing Megan is at the gym is what motivates me to get up.
Having an accountability partner really makes all the difference!

Babywise saved our life!! Our little fella sleeps 10-14 hours a night and has since 7 weeks! It is the best thing ever!! Good for you girls! I like working out in the am as well! I feel it just works better for our schedules!!
Hiya!! I'm a relatively new reader and this is my first comment. Maybe you've posted this before, but what do you do for work? Just curious. Love seeing how you fit everything in in a day :)
You are amazeballs for getting up at 4:30am. I am working up to it... maybe in a few weeks. But honestly, getting the workout in before work is pretty damn awesome.
I need a SkinnyMeg here in Ohio. Can you clone yours and send FedEx?
LOVED babywise. My daughter slept through the night from 6 weeks on. Shes 3 and still takes naps and loves her sleep!
Babywise rocks, and so does your work schedule! I'm with Rachel, I need a SkinnyMeg clone. Now that's a million dollar idea!
All four of our kids are Babywise kids ... Same thing, 6- 10 weeks old, all sleeping 10-12 hours. It's the only way I can workout early in the morning! Nice work, Mama!
I love getting my work out done in the morning too!! I always feel better and when I run late or have a million and 2 things to do I don't feel bad for having to skip the gym!! Keep up the great work!!

Another Babywise mama here! My girl was sleeping through by 6 weeks and sleeps like a ROCK still at 5yo! Holla!
Any advice for solo morning workouts? I struggle with the gym not being open at that time (I live in a ridiculous small area)and running solo in the dark makes me scared like a five year old with monsters under my bed. I can't wait for it to be lighter out soon..
Do you find that you are a lot hungrier throughout the day when you workout in the morning? I find that I always want to shovel food into my mouth all day when I get in a good morning workout.
Seriously... So inspirational. I NEED to get right back to that as soon as I can after the baby is born, and I WILL do it! :) Thanks for the motivation as always, and you guys are so stinkin cute!
Where are you at in Ohio?
Yes! I'm up at 4:30am most days to go to bootcamp or run with my BFF. and I lay in bed checking FB or emails for at least a few minutes with one eye open. Getting out of bed is THE.HARDEST.PART.EVER. but once i'm out and done with workout I am so glad I did. Also totally agree about the accountability partner. If my friend didn't convince me to do bootcamp and run with her I wouldn't be doing it....and on days when she is sick or can't go, I give myself every excuse why I don't have to go either. Anyways, so glad you are becoming a morning workout person. You are doing great and keep inspiring us! Love the pics of you and Meg too! Keep on keeping on :-)
So wait!! Do you work full-time? Your hours are awesome!!!
Love the morning workouts! With kids I find it is easier to workout before they are awake. Less mom guilt too because then you aren't missing anytime with them!
I am so so so not a morning person. Well actually kind of I guess. I'd wake up at 6:45 to get my girls ready for school and go to bed the next morning. :) I do daycare all day, and am a photographer weekends so I edit photos until late/early.. 1-2am ish...
Then I teamed up with 4 friends to wake up at 4:30 and do a 5 am workout. Needless to say now go to bed at 9:30pm... Ok the first few weeks there were a couple 7:30pm nights I crashed! I have been doing this for a couple months now and it's SO much easier at night. It does such getting up early but it allows me an extra couple hours at night with my husband and girls.Plus I think it starts my metabolism that much earlier than before. As my girls are getting older and involved in evening activities there is just no way to get it all done in one day. I can't wait for it to warm up here so I can get a run in at night too!
I'm so jealous Megan can wear those headbands that way and look good! I look crazy when I try to wear mine that way! Also props to waking up so early. I try and try time after time but it is so hard to do when it's cold out. As soon as it's warm though getting up that early is a piece of cake, piece of pie! (Piece of ass.. I'm good at remembering some lines from moves!)
I'm tell you, I want to be a morning person. And a night owl. I want to function (and well) on like 5 hours of sleept.

Another one eye open phone reader here...that thing is just so damn bright in the mornings!
You inspire me to get my butt in gear though!
I've noticed that since you got a gym membership & started hanging out with Megan you seem so much happier and more eager to workout! It's nice to see you so excited to go to the gym everyday and you show us the benefits of having someone else there to motivate you!! Keep it up:)
I LOVE early morning workouts! I am usually able to get my strength training in the morning and run in the eve!
I have to focus on one thing a time ;) I'm no bueno at multi tasking!

My daughter asked me this morning why I only had one eye opened while looking at my phone...I told her the other one was still sleeping :)
OMG I thought I was the only one who reads my emails in bed with one eye open bahahaha Your day sounds like a typical fitness freak!!! That's what I LOVE TO SEE! NO EXCUSES!!! XOXOXO Happy Weekend!!
Ughhh I am not a morning person but since I may be going back to work full time, maybe I can learn to be one too. All I know is the last time I tried to work out in the AM, I ended up falling asleep on the toilet. Classy right? It's awesome that you have Megan to work out with and share motivation!
I CrossFit at 9:00 am and I think that's early... I'll stop complaining now. (I work nights)
SO excited about your new workouts. Very motivating for me!
I'm also a Babywise fan. My kids slept through the night at 5 weeks and 9 weeks. And have been awesome sleepers ever since!
Love this! You two remind me of my best friend & I! :)

I want a tutorial on how you fix your hair!! My hair hasn't been as long as it is in FOR.E.VER and I love the way you fix yours :)
Keep up the great work, you're a huge inspiration! I've decided to start blogging about my own journey to skinny jeans as well, and it's all because of you!
Thanks, Mama!
Those of you that used Babywise, were your babies breast or formula fed? Just curious? Thanks
Good work on those early morning work outs!!
I miss morning workouts. I commute 40 minutes and start work at 6:45 a.m...the good thing is, I'm home by 3:30 and have plenty of time in the afternoon. I just miss feeling awesome all day that I already worked out.
PS- LOVE your blogs new look!
I am loving the new look of the blog!
You are a machine!! Holy moly!!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

I would love to see a post about running tips. Ways to improve pace, distance, breathing, posture etc. and any stretches or after run routines you swear by. I am in the middle of the C25K program and my calves get ridiculously tight, do the compression socks help with that? Or any tips on how to reduce the tightness.
Dannnnnnng girl, the new blog look is finnnnnnne. looking good!
Is it possible to use babywise on a toddler? My almost the year old still doesn't sleep all night.
