Bathroom & Blog Makeover

This weekend Megan came over and helped me re-do my bathroom.
It was SOOOO boring in there. We literally hadn't done a single thing to that room since we moved in our house.... FIVE YEARS AGO!
You know Megan has a heart attack at beige walls and I really just think she was tired of seeing my #ootd (outfit of the day) pics on Instagram with beige walls and boringness in the background. ;)
The Hubs was out of town so I figured this would be the PERFECT time to tackle the bathroom since he was NOT on board with the colors I was wanting to do in there- mint green & white.
He was all "NO WAY! THAT'S HIDEOUS!"
Men.
I'm so happy that it all turned out just as we planned!
Friday we painted the entire bathroom mint green.
Megan taped off the bathroom for our Chevron pattern.
Saturday we finished the painting and Sunday I spent the day putting the finishing touches on everything before The Hubs got home.
Here is the finished product.

Colors are Behr Kiwi Squeeze & Martha Stewart Talc.
Curtains are from Target on clearance for $15/panel (not shower curtains).
Rod is a shower curtain rod from Target.
Bamboo shade was $50 from Home Depot.
Decor around bathtub is from Ross.
I replaced the brass towel rack with a bronze one from Target and then I added shower hooks and hung my long necklaces on them.
Rugs from Target.
Jewelry box from Ross.

I LOVE how it turned out!
I'm still not done in there, however. I am going to stain the cabinets a dark espresso color which I think will just make everything come together. And the last thing I want to do in there is frame the builder grade mirror in a deep espresso color.

The Hubs isn't a HUGE fan of the color but his exact words were "well, the bathroom looks good."
MaMeg for the WIN!
MaMeg= Mine & Megan's "celebrity couple" name.
And no, we didn't come up with that ourselves.
A reader did. ;)
And no, we're not lesbians.
And no, we aren't hating on the lesbians.
Sheesh.

Now for some
Before and After:
Here are some progress pics:

I could NOT have done this without Megan. She totally rocks my face off.
Here is a video tutorial of how we -aka- Megan did the chevron wall.

Speaking of things that rock my face off, how are you liking my new blog look??
Hubby Jack put this beaut together and I LOVE it!! He's pretty much amaze. If you need a blog makeover, check him out. And tell him I sent you.

Here is a Monday morning outfit pic in my new, sassy bathroom:
belt- Kohl's
jeans- Express
necklace- Kiki La'Rue

And here are some things that are on the schedule that I plan to discuss so stay tuned:

I absolutely LOVE it!! and she makes it look easy in that video! I have a vaulted ceiling in my bedroom but would love to do a chevron wall, just not sure how it would work with the wall at an angle like it is. Inspiring for sure!

It looks good and I really like the look of the blog.

Blog topics- how to start, I would like that. I need to get my azz in gear and maybe having to talk about it online will boost my morale. But the before pictures may have to wait until the after is accomplished.

Wow! It looks awesome. I may be starting my own weekend bathroom project soon. I will also be confident in what colors I pick, regardless of my boyfriends bad taste haha.
I am very excited about some of your upcoming topics, including about starting a blog because I just started my own. I also LOVE the new lay out of the blog. Unfortunately, I use wordpress so I can't use him to design mine, but yours looks awesome.

Love the blog makeover!!! Much better than the other & I love this picture. You look so much younger. Y'all's chevron painting has made me want to do that.. Too bad I have no patience for taping.

Looks great! The color seems very soft & maybe unusual for a bathroom but it looks really good. Sometimes it pays to be adventurous!

I love it!!!! We've lived in our house almost 3 years and haven't painted a dang thing. Honestly, I'm just not a decorator and have no idea when I'd ever tackle such a task. Haha!!! Painting a nursery... Reason #37621 that I want a baby. Lol.

I love everything about it! So gorg! Men don't care what anything looks like anyway, so as long as you love it, that's what matters!

I'm literallly obsessing over this bathroom. I want to say that I have the same house layout as you in Houston... but I could be wrong. It looks so close! I'm wanting to make over mine after this baby is born.... and I think I'll have to do what you did -- wait till the hubby is out of town or not home -- hehehe <3

LOOKS GORGEOUS. <3
