MILF Monday: 8 Week Challenge

7 weeks out.

Alright, let's jump right in, shall we??
Last week I told y'all about the 8 Week Challenge I'm doing.
I am leaning out for a couple photoshoots I have coming up that are in May (8 weeks away).
What I'm doing in this 8 week period is making sure my diet is ON POINT.
NO cheats.
No sneaking bites, no nibbling, NOTHING.
For 8 solid weeks.
I know, it's tough. But I want to see what I can make my body do in those 8 weeks when my nutrition is top notch.

 This past week I did really well. I tracked my food every day and ate between 1850-1950 calories a day.

I had one cheat meal on Friday night. It was a bowl from Chili's with grilled shrimp, lettuce, rice, black beans, pico and avacado.
It was a little too high in calories for my liking (after looking it up AFTER eating it- NEVER do that, by the way!), so I'll have to find an alternative there since that will likely be my "cheat meal" restaurant. The kids like it, I love their tea (UNsweet), and it's loud enough to where if the boys get wild, I don't feel bad.
The Hubs had this insane looking cheeseburger with like bacon and sinful goodness all over it.
He's not allowed to order that again.

It was hard. And when we had people over on Saturday night I really wanted a glass bottle of wine. But I resisted.
It's just 8 weeks.

I took my measurements last week at the beginning of the week.
Here are my measurements as of 3.17.14:

26.1% body fat in low belly (where I typically hold a lot of fat).
Weight: 145.4 (not worried about that at all)
Waist: 29"
Hips: 38.5"
Bust: 36"
L Bicep: 11'
R Bicep: 11.5"
L Thigh: 22"
R Thigh: 22.5"
L Quad: 17.5:
R Quad: 18.5"
L Calf: 13"
R Calf: 13"

I will re-take those measurements at the end of the 8 weeks.
I'm not really looking to improve on the measurements so much as I am the actual body fat percentage.
I'm trying to get down to 20% for this leaning phase.
Just for a reference point, most bikini competitors are anywhere between 8-13% on stage.
And you can typically gauge between .5-1% loss PER WEEK in leaning out phases. Provided you're doing them correctly, etc.

As of this morning, my body fat percentage is at 25%, so I'm already making progress. And I'm happy with that.

I took before pictures for y'all as well.
Ugh.
What is it about "before pictures" that gives me hives?
I'm queen of before pictures, and STILL, EVERY time I post some I always get nervous.

It's like throwing it out there saying
"HEY, THIS IS HOW I LOOK. I KNOW I'M NOT PERFECT AND I MAY HURT YOUR EYES, BUT I'M TRYING HERE!"

It's all relative, folks.
3.17.14 Before leaning out phase 1 - 26.1% body fat
Now, as far as y'all joining in on the 8 Week Challenge with me, you can DEFINITELY do that!
You will be eating clean for 8 weeks, with ONE cheat MEAL (nothing Big Mac status) per week.
Keeping track of your measurements, weight, body fat %, etc.
Taking progress pictures is a MUST.

At the end of the 8 weeks, you will send me your results with pictures, measurements, body fat %, etc. and I will pick the person with the best results and post them on the blog.
The winner will also receive some cool prize which I haven't even thought about yet, to be honest. But it will be awesome.

I have about 20lbs to lose and have been struggling with this weight for a couple of years. I am so wanting to lose them as I used to be where you are right now. For the past few years I have constantly failed at trying to get back there.
So, I am going to join your 8 week challenge and see if I can lose 10lb at least during it! I don't know if I'll send pictures or measurements but if I even achieve this while following your progress, I will be over the moon.

YAY!! Wine is my weakness!! What are you using to calculate your Body Fat %? We have a Dexa machine at work that I get in every other month or so to check it (last I checked 6weeks ago I was at a 30% bf) but I would like tot rack it weekly. Just curious what you are using to track yours?? I think if I was seeing even slight changes in the % that it would really motivate me to keep going. I'm happy with my weight and my measurements, just really want to see the bf % drop!

How do YOU accurately measure your body fat %?? I've always just done height & weight by BMI, but I know that's not the most accurate way. Do you use the "pinchers" to measure? (can't think of the actual name) I'm pregnant, due in August, & I'm ready to get back on my pre-pregnancy health kick ASAP post-baby!! Absorbing all info now!! Thanks!

I'm curious at to how you are measuring you're measuring your quads separately from your thigh… as your quad is one of the muscles in your thigh.

Keep up the great work! :) It's refreshing to see someone who isn't scared to talk about their height, weight, body fat %, and measurements! I think it helps people understand realistic goals for the many different types of healthy body types!

Did you use an online body fat calculator? If so which one? Did you enter your measurements to get you body fat or did you do the pinch test?

How do you take your body fat % in a specific area? I have a scale that measures it but it's based off of hydration so I'm not sure it's totally accurate (I'm hoping it's not!).

I'm gonna say it...when you started this whole thing I was like 'Is she nuts!' but you know what you are..you are FREAKING AMAZING! Your motivation to do things is like this little angel that sits on my shoulder and tells me that I can be/do anything! July will be a year of eating clean for me and only having 1 cheat meal a week. (no, not big mac status - gave up fast food 3 yrs ago) so I am already doing everything for this challenge but I'll jump in! You should see my before Nd afters from July to now! Wish I could use that as my before and after in 8 weeks! ;)

No problem getting my bodyfat or anything like that (I have calipers) just need to know when the 8 weeks run from. Just because you're already a week in or maybe you'll have been doing this for nine weeks at the end of all of this. Not sure. Exciting!

I'm in too. Had a question though. Aside from clean eating and tracking calories are you also tracking your macros? And is there a certain percentage you are sticking with? I notice I do a lot better when I track calories and macros too. But anyways, you look amazing!
